Know the Difference Between a Watch and a Warning
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Hamilton, Warren, Butler, and Clermont counties in Ohio. A tornado watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes to develop. It does not mean that a tornado has been spotted or is imminent. A tornado warning, on the other hand, means that a tornado has been spotted or is indicated by radar. If a tornado warning is issued, you should take shelter immediately.
There Have Been More Than 400 Tornadoes This Year
This year has already seen more than 400 tornadoes, which is well above the average. The central and eastern portions of the US have been particularly hard hit. Severe weather, including tornadoes, is expected to continue in these areas in the coming weeks.
